Warm Up: Tongue Twister/Enunciation Public Speaking Exercise
Objective: We can analyze film as a text. We can understand and discuss the elements of a Public Forum Debate and begin preparing and researching for this debate.
Lesson: Finish "The Great Debaters" and turn in Film Guide. Discuss Public Forum Debates (look over ballot, guide, resolutions, and outline). Narrow down public forum debate topics in preparation for choosing groups.
Wrap Up: What are the top 3 most interesting resolutions? Why?
Homework: See previous post--watch Public Forum Nationals competition and be ready to discuss it on Friday! Take notes and get ready to talk about what you took away from this clip in preparation for your own debate!
